Al-Shatibi between the illiteracy of Sharia and the scientific miracle: an analytical study
Abstract
This research discusses a significant issue, namely the views of Imam Abu Ishaq al-Shatibi, author of Al-Muwafaqat, regarding the illiteracy of Islamic law (Sharia) and the scientific miracles of the Quran. Scholars agree that al-Shatibi denied the scientific miracles of the Quran due to his adoption of the concept of the illiteracy of Islamic law (Sharia). This study attempts to prove that al-Shatibi did not deny the scientific miracles of the Quran, but rather had a unique conception of this type of miracle, which he established based on his precise and unique understanding of the illiteracy of Islamic law (Sharia). From the perspective of this research, al-Shatibi's description of Islamic law as illiteracy is not a reason for denying the scientific miracles of the Quran. Rather, it was a solid and firm foundation upon which he relied to construct a unique conception of the scientific miracles of the Holy Quran.
