Abstract

In light of rapid technological advancements and the increasing use of intelligent systems in various aspects of life, this research aims to clarify the concept of artificial intelligence (AI) and its characteristics, and to address the legal issues it raises, particularly concerning the determination of liability for damages that may result from these systems. It also examines the extent to which general rules of civil liability can accommodate these damages through liability for personal acts, liability for things, or contractual liability. Furthermore, it explores some possible legal solutions, such as analogy to liability for animal actions or utilizing principles of Islamic law to mitigate harm.

The research concludes that while traditional rules of liability can provide partial solutions, they may not be sufficient to address the complexities of advanced AI. Therefore, the need arises for developing specific legislation to regulate legal liability for damages resulting from the use of AI technologies.
